How Pre-Orders Work at Diecast Airplane Store
Diecast Airplane Store has been an authorized retailer for GeminiJets, NG Models, JC Wings, Hobby Master, InFlight200 and every other brand we carry since 2012. Here is exactly what to expect when you pre-order a model.
Why pre-order?
Most diecast models are produced in a single limited run. Manufacturers make a set quantity, ship it to authorized retailers, and move on to the next release. GeminiJets, for example, does not reissue sold-out models. Popular liveries often sell out before or shortly after release, and once they do, the only option is the secondary market, usually at a higher price.
A pre-order reserves your model from our allocation with the manufacturer, so you are not competing for a few remaining units on release day.
When is my card charged?
Pre-orders are charged in full when you place your order. This is what reserves your model from our allocation.
Can I cancel a pre-order?
Yes. You can cancel any pre-order at any time before it ships for a full refund to your original payment method. No fees and no store credit. Just contact us with your order number.
Who sets the release date?
The manufacturer. Release dates on our site are the manufacturer's estimates at the time of listing. Production and shipping delays are common in the diecast industry and are outside our control. When a manufacturer updates a release date, we update the product page.
How do I check the status of my pre-order?
Check the product page for the latest estimated release date, or contact us anytime with your order number and we will tell you exactly where it stands. If a new date does not work for you, you can cancel for a full refund.
How do I know if a model is a pre-order or in stock?
Pre-order items are clearly marked PRE-ORDER on the product page and show the expected release date. Anything without that label is in stock and ships from our warehouse.
What if my order has both in-stock and pre-order items?
Orders containing both in-stock and pre-order items ship together when everything is available, unless you ask us to ship separately (additional shipping charges may apply). To get your in-stock items right away, we recommend placing pre-orders as a separate order.
How does shipping work for pre-orders?
Your pre-order ships as soon as it arrives at our warehouse. US orders over $149 ship free.
